Renewable Energy leads the list of planned generation additions in 2021, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, or EIA. Most notable is Solar which will have a record year, accounting for 39% of new generating capacity, followed by wind at 31%. The report outlines the regions largely driving the renewable additions which include Texas, Oklahoma, California, and the Mid-Atlantic.
The International Energy Agency recently forecasted that this trend extends not only in the U.S. but throughout the globe. The report projects that Renewable Energy additions will grow 10% in 2021, with a strong forecast through at least 2025.
